ESET NOD32 Antivirus with iTunes
ESET NOD32 is a fast, reliable antivirus package, but I've seen one serious flaw. On Windows Vista and 7, NOD32 does not play well with iTunes.
With even the latest version of NOD32 Antivirus (version 4) many users experience recurring errors from iTunes. Reported problems include iTunes freezing when accessing the iTunes store and an error message such as, "iTunes library file cannot be saved." Different methods for resolving the problem have had varying levels of success, and removing NOD32 can delete iTunes' library file. You music files should be OK, but your playlists will be missing. It's possible that by the time the error begins to occur in iTunes, the library file has already been quarantined by NOD32, so that the fix would be to add a program exception for iTunes and restore the file.
If you are experiencing this problem, give me a call (979-530-2150), and I'll help you resolve it. Before you do anything else, make sure you have a full backup of all your data files, especially your iTunes Library file. That way, even if the worst happens, you can just restore from backup and keep going like nothing ever happened.
